Rules and Regulations

 

Every registered participant and finisher will receive the following items:

1.         Bib number, loaner timing chip (marathon, half

            marathon and 5k only), event shirt and goodie bag

            that can be picked-up at the Quality of Life Expo.

2.         Gatorade Endurance Formula and water will be provided at the starting

            and finish line areas.

3.         14 Aid stations (marathon), 7 Aid Stations (half

            marathon), 2 Aid Stations (5K) include water, Gatorade Endurance Formula,

            GU at marathon aid stations 5 and 8; and medical support.

4.         Admission into the Refreshment Area and the Finish Line Festival

            at the Gateway.

5.         Music, live entertainment and celebration locations at

            eight spots along the corse.

6.         Free ticket for Marathoners and Half Marathoners 

            to the post-race awards party and concert.  5k and Bike Tour participants may  

            purchase a ticket for $5.

7.         Marathon, half marathon and bike tour finisher’s medallion.

 

Rules:

1.         There will be no day-of-race registration.

2.         You must be able to complete the marathon in 6 hours.

3.         You must be in good health and physically prepared to

            undertake the challenges of a marathon & half

            marathon.

4.         Event bib numbers are required for participation. All

            participants must be registered in order to participate.

5.         All marathon, half marathon & 5K participants must

            fasten their timing chips to their shoelace with the

            provided chip tie. All timing chips will be collected

            immediately after crossing the finish line.

6.         No skateboards, dogs or inline skates will be allowed on

            the course.

7.         Baby joggers will be allowed in the 5K only, but must

            start at the back of the pack.

 

Walkers and Slower Participants

The Salt Lake City Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K welcomes walkers. Walkers and individuals with a 16+ minute pace are recommended to consider using a fanny pack that accommodates a water bottle. If you plan on participating at a 16+ minute pace per mile or slower, be aware that the course closes 6 hours from the start. 

 

If you plan on participating in the Early Start for Marathoners, your participation must be identified prior to race day by selecting "yes" to the Early Start question on your registration form, whether online or mail-in.
